Christmas ...

This Christmas was our favorite of all time. I can't get over how much better it was with our little Mary. Justin had the whole Christmas week off of work. It made it feel like winter break.

Christmas morning we headed to my parents for a breakfast feast. Waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit. After we stuffed ourselves we open gifts. Of course Mary made out like a bandit and  she slept while she did it. Nap time followed for a few or little fix it projects for the guys. It was a fun relaxing day. We stuffed ourselves again at dinner. Prime rib was on the menu.

We want to say thank you to all our family and friends for the amazing support and love that they have given us this year. You all have made this holiday season our most memorable.

Mary Meets Santa Claus ...

We bundled up baby Mary and headed to Oppurtunity Village with the family. We got there right when they opened hoping there wouldn't be a lot of  people waiting in line.

Poor Santa wasn't sure on how to hold her. She wasn't sure of him either.  But at least we got a cute picture.

Our Baby Story ...

My last doctors appointment was November 21st and my doctor gave us the option of being induced the next evening. Baby was extremely low, causing me to be very uncomftorable and my cervix was not moving down like it was suppost to be. The only catch was that we would have to move the birth from Centennial Hills Hospital like we planned to Summerlin Hospital. We decided that it would be best for me to be induced. Plus we would have some time to get ready and be prepared.

The morning of the 22nd, Thanksgiving, we woke up a little anxious. So Justin decided it would be a good idea to get out of the house and took me shopping. After a little shopping we headed to my Aunts house for Thanksgiving dinner with the family. I stuffed myself a little too much, but it all tasted so good. After dinner we all just sat around trying to get our minds off the big event. We started to get really anxious and a little nervous, so we headed home to get our bags and head to the hospital.

We arrived at 8:00pm at Summerlin Hospital, registered and started filling out paper work. It was pretty quiet in the labor ward. We were the only ones there.

10:00pm they gave me prostaglandins, to help with my cervix and then four hours later I would recieve another one. They also gave me a sleeping pill to help me sleep through the night, since they were predicting I would go into labor the next morning. My family went home to get some rest themselves and we planned on calling them once I got closure to delivery.

11:50pm Justin woke up to me groaning in pain from contractions. He got my nurse and she checked me and to her surprise I was five centermeters. She looked at Justin and said "You better call whoever wants to be here." My family made record time getting back to the hospital.

The anesthesiologist, Dr. Hanson (its a small world), came in to give me my epidural. While he was doing that my water broke. It took awhile for it to kick in. All I remember is the contractions being so strong. I think I scared my poor sister into never having babies. I got another dose of epidural and all of a sudden I couldn't feel a thing. I took a little nap while my family watched my contractions on the monitor.

Soon my contractions were right ontop of each other and fast. My nurse told everyone it was time and if you didn't want to witness the birth, it was time to leave now. My doctor hurried in and before I knew it, it was time to push. I only had three rounds of pushing and then all of a sudden my nurse said open your eyes and there she was coming!

2:20 am Mary Lyn Hanson was here. 6 pounds 4 ounces of perfection.

Remembering ...

Colors and joys of life resemble a rainbow
A rainbow calms, charms, and even relieves agony out of life
But it doesn't happen to be eternal, it vanishes after time
Rainbows come often with the sky so bright
Reliving the past, Reawakening the present
And rejuvenating the future
May rainbows be a good part of life
Thanking for our blessings and memories

Pumpkin Picking ...

The other day we decided to go pick out out pumpkins, before all the good ones were taken. The rule in my family as always as long as you can carry it, you can have it. I was waved this year since my doctor doesn't want me carring anything that would put any strain on the baby. So as long as Justin could carry it, it was mine.

There was cute cut outs for little kids, but my belly fit perfectly into one with a pumpkin head. Come to find out a few days later when I turned 34 weeks, they say baby is the size of a small pumpkin.

Max & Mary ...

Max loves to sleep on my belly and Mary likes to kick his head while it rests there. It doesn't even faze him. He could sleep like this all day.

Happy 28 To Me ...

Monday was my 28th birthday. I don't know if its the fact that I'm getting older or am just too excited thinking about our little baby, but it was just another day for me. Work was the usual, but my coworkers did have a nice cake for me and took me out to lunch. That night, Justin and I went to my parents for dinner and Monday Night Football. Dinner was delicous, I'm not even going to comment on the Packer game. All and all it was a good day to turn 28.

Mary Had A Little Lamb Baby Shower ...

Last Saturday was my baby shower. The theme was easy to decided on. Mary had a little lamb. I can't believe how much lamb themed gifts we got. I didn't think lambs were that popular for babies. The turn out was great, I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful family and group of friends. We got 3/4 off our registry and theres just a few odds and ends we ourselves have to get.

While the ladies were at my parents house, Justin had the fellas over to our house for a BBQ. Each pack of diapers or wipes that they each brought got them a raffle ticket to win a rifle. I can't believe how all out some of the guys went. Here is our pile of 5,022 wipes and 2,343 diapers.

Mary's Cherry Blossom Tree...

We've been going back and forth on what to put on the wall where the changing table sits in the nursery. A pictures, a mirror etc. I was secretly thinking of a cherry blossom tree, but didn't think Justin would like the idea, so I never brought it up. Then randomly one day Justin said, "what about a tree decal." Of course I thought it was a great idea, because I was thinking the same thing. We spent a little time online browsing tree decals until we found one on etsy we both liked. Ordered it and then the waiting game began.

Two weeks later our post lady rang the door bell with our package. A rather small package. Not big enough for our six foot tree. We opened it up and it was in a hundred different pieces. Seven pieces for the trunk and every leaf, flower, bird, butterfly had to be cut out and placed by hand. It took us about a hour and a half, it was a fun little project to do together.

Arizona Trip ...

Our cousins from Alaska; Sean, Marsha, and their daughter Loryn, were visiting Arizona for a week. They rented a house and invited us to drive down and visit them. It was so nice to get to see them and relax. There was pool in the backyard, so we spent almost every morning there. Marsha and I spent a day at the mall. We're only seven weeks apart in our pregnancies, so we did a little maternity and baby shopping. It was a nice little getaway for four days. I can't wait for us to get together next summer with both our babies.

Estimated Guess ...

For a girlfriends birthday almost three years ago, a few of us went to see a phsycic to have our tarot cards read. Now at that time I don't know if I would say I believed or if I was a skeptic. I never really had an opinion. I don't even know if I really have an opinion now. But the one thing that stuck out to me was that she told me I was going to have a baby December 24th 2012.

A little less than a year later, Justin and I started trying for a baby. We had no luck for a long time and became discourage. Now fast forward; and we are expecting our little princess on November 30th 2012. Now they aren't the exact dates, but are pretty darn close. Was it an estimated guess or something else? That I will never know for sure, but what a coincidence.

Our 4th Wedding Anniversary ...

Fruits and flowers. That's the traditional gift for four years of marriage. We had a low key anniversary this year since we just got back from Hawaii the week before. The perfect place to see beautiful flowers and eat yummy fruit.

Friday morning I got up with Justin bright and early to make him breakfast before he went to work. Strawberry pancakes were on the menu. Keeping up with the theme of the day.

I went back to sleep, but woken up only a few hours later to Justin home early. We ran a few errands and did a little shopping. Bought more baby things, since they were too cute to pass up.

We had dinner at one if my favorite restaurants, The Melting Pot. It was delicious as usual and we even got a half dozen chocolate covered strawberries to take home as an anniversary gift.

Hawaii ...

Last week we were in Paradise, AKA Maui. It was absolutely beautiful. Our good friends, Jorge and Jessica, were getting married, so we made a whole trip out of it. We left Saturday late night and came home the following Saturday. It was the week before our fourth year wedding anniversary, so we decided to make it a anniversary trip as well. It worked out perfect since year four is flowers and fruits. What other place has the prettiest flowers and the yummiest fruits. Hawaii was the perfect location. Aloha!

Sunday ...

We arrived in Hawaii at 6am bright and early. Thankfully I slept most of the way on the plan. Las Vegas to Honolulu was packed to the gills, but our small plane from Honolulu to Maui only had two dozen people. We all could of had our own windows.

We traveled with our friends Shawn and Krissy, since we were sharing a two bedroom condo. After getting our bags and rent a cars they took us to this apartment complex that had a tiny restraraunt called the Gazebo. It was overlooking the water and only had a dozen tables. We waited in line for almost 45 minutes, but it was well worth it. I had peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast and Justin had white chocolate macadamia nut We stuffed ourselves and headed to the beach for a bit.

We did a little exploring before checking in. Once we checked in, we did some grocery shopping for breakfast and lunch stuff to fill up our kitchen. Our condo was amazing with a capital A! The beach was only a few steps downhill and boom you were there. We were a little more North in Kapalua, so it wasn't do touristy, which was so nice.

OCD me unpacked all our clothes and put them on hangers and re-arranged the furniture.

Our breakfast carried us through to dinner time and we headed to Front street (main drag in Lahiana) we had a great dinner at Fleetwoods. My baked chocked was like Thanksgiving turkey. We called it an early night and turned in before we all passed out from exhaustion.

Monday ...

We woke up bright and early and had breakfast on our porch. Within 45 minutes we were on the beach. The boys snorkeling and us girls enjoying the sun rays. The beach was steps from our condo and always had the bare amount of people, which was perfect. It was quiet and peaceful.

After a few hours us girls started snorkeling and we even took put our paddle boards. The wind picked up a bit so it was a little choppy, but it was good practice time to getting used to the snorkels.

After showering Justin and I wanted to take the Jeep and do a little exploring. We came up to some really neat spots away from all the touristy locations.

After freshening up we had our date night out. We headed down to front street and had dinner at Kimos. My parents told us it was a must. That they loved it when they went last year. Our reservation was at 6:30 right when the sun started to go down. We had a table right at the edge over looking the water and sunset. Justin had the kimo cut prime rib and I had pai pai fish made with orange ginger and macadamia nuts. The food was out of this world. I tried the prime rib and It was by fare the best ever. The fish was so fresh and fell apart. We finished with a hula pie for dessert and pregnant me almost ate the entire thing.

We went through a few shops before we left. Our food comas kicked in and our bed was calling our name.

Tuesday ...

We wanted to take Shawn and Krissy were we explored yesterday. We stopped at Honolua, which was a beautiful cove with crystal blue waters. From the cliff above you could see the bottom of the ocean and all the reefs. At the bottom it turned into a jungle with the greenest trees and vines.

We hiked a little bit off a dirt road and found a secluded beach that was just paradise. Justin even caught a crab with bulging eyes.

Farther down the road the cliffs and road became red and we even found a blowhole. Every wave that came in pushed the water through and right up in the air. It was so neat watching.

We headed back to freshen up for the rehearsal and dinner. The rehearsal was a breeze so we headed right over to the plantation house where they were hosting our dinner. It was beautiful. Right on the golf course and when we walked in we got a lei and a a pineapple drink. Mine virgin of course.

Wednesday ...

Jessica spent the night at our condo, so we tried sleeping in as much as possible. And that only lasted til about eight o'clock. Jessica wrote her vows and we put together the cutest favors and then headed to the spa to lay in the sun a little bit before we had to get ready.

All of us girls were running around getting our hair and makeup done for the wedding. We only were about fifteen minutes late jumping into the limo, which wasn't too bad.

The wedding was one of the prettiest I've ever been to. The setting was amazing and the officiant was total Hawaiian.
